Gailon Valleau was born and raised in Toronto, and moved to Haliburton in 1985, where she still resides. Her mother and both Grandmothers were Artists, so creativity was encouraged.

Gailon attended the Ontario College of Art for three years, from 1977-1980, specializing in Fine Art and Sculpture. Her final year was spent on Independant Studies in Pietrasanta, Italy, primarily studying Sculpture.

Due to the inability to fund a sculpture studio, Gailon reverted to Drawing and Painting and has since been a freelance Artist, accepting commissions of all sorts, in the fields of Portraiture, illustration, Paintings and Murals.

We were lucky enough to get Gailon to illustrate "Cool Blues", a picture book written by Coldwater's Joan Daulby.
