After graduating from Laurentian University, Mr. J. Graham Ducker spent many years as a Principal and Kindergarten Teacher in various Ontario schools, culminating with teaching Kindergarten in a unique school. Upon retiring he completed a book entitled: Don’t Wake the Teacher!
A poetry book - Observations of Heart and Mind - was published in 2006.
He has many stories and poems published nationally and internationally.
With the Canada Cuba Literary Alliance he travels to Cuba to do poetry workshops and readings at the Canadian Embassy, the University of Havana, the Havana and Holguin Libraries, and the International Book Fair.
In April 2010, he was invited to the Seventh WEFLA Education Conference in Holguin, Cuba where his keynote address entitled: Using the External Environment to Develop Language In A Culturally Diverse Class in a Culturally Divisive Community.
His book is now part of the Primary Methods Research Department at the University Of Holguin, Cuba.
Pine Lake Books is pleased to be able to publish his picture books, "The Elephant That Wanted to Join the Circus", and "Why Pigs Have Curly Tails". "The Elephant That Wanted to Join the Circus" is scheduled for publication in middle 2011. The very talented Bev Newton is the illustrator for these two stories.
